Recreational Classes


Mommy & Me (18 months- 2years):

This is a parent/guardian participation class. The parent/guardian is encouraged to help the child learn to move and have fun with the beginning movements of gymnastics. the activities that will be introduced will be basic gymnastic skills that enhance motor development and coordination. Children will be hanging and swinging, jumping, climbing and balancing. Our specially trained staff are a fun-loving team of instructors that enjoy teaching gymnastics and working with the children. the group class dynamic also aides in socializations. All classes are 1 hour long.

Tiny Tots:

This class is designed for the child that is ready to participate alone with an instructor. They will be introduced to cartwheels, walking on a balance beam, swinging and supporting on bars and jumping on the tumble track. All tiny tot participants MUST BE POTTY TRAINED. All classes are 1 hour long.

Pre-K & K:

This class will allow your advancing gymnast to learn cartwheels, forward and backward rolls, handstands and more strength related skills. They will also learn structure and following directions. They will continue to use all the gym apparatus as they advance their skills, their body awareness and strength as coordination continues to develop. The children will work on equipment that is specially designed for preschool gymnastics. We use teaching aids including wedges, barrel shape mats, tumble trak and much, much more! Our specially trained staff are a fun-loving team of instructors that enjoy teaching gymnastics and working with the children. All classes are 1 hour long.

Girls and Boys Gymnastics Recreational Classes


Ages 6 & UP

Within the session, all classes will include working on all gymnastic apparatus in addition to trampoline, pits, tumble trak and much, much more! As your child progresses, he or she will begin working on more advanced skills like connections and combinations!

Ninja:

Athletic Agility is the art of efficiently interacting with one’s environment, so as to overcome obstacles and barriers. It is much more than an extreme sport; it is a way of thinking and living that involves utilizing the environment around you, confidence and training. Everyone, and anyone, can benefit from this discipline!
The class incorporates conditioning into games and creative physical activities and teaches tricks, moves and techniques; including jumping and landing, rolling, vaulting, climbing, and falling safely. We also cover physical conditioning, speed, agility, coordination, stamina, endurance and precision. It offers a full-body workout at any level of experience. Come in today to experience this phenomenal discipline!

Acro Tumble:

One hour tumble class. Perfect for cheerleaders, dancers or anyone who just loves to tumble and improve new and existing skills! This class is taught by gymnastics professionals and your athlete(s) will learn skills and techniques to utilize in their performance setting. Let’s say you can’t get that back handspring, aerial or tuck you’ve been putting countless hours into, this class is for you! Sign up and finally perfect those skills to help you make that team today!

Mid Island Gymnastics Policies

UNLIMITED MAKE-UP POLICY

MID ISLAND GYMNASTICS HAS AN OPEN MAKE-UP POLICY. ANY MISSED CLASSES MAY BE USED FOR A MAKE-UP, PROVIDED THE CLASS IS OF APPROPRIATE ABILITY AND SIZE. MAKE-UPS MUST BE DONE WITHIN YOUR CURRENT SESSION. HOWEVER, MAKE-UPS CAN BE CARRIED OVER IF SIGNED UP AND PAID FOR THE NEXT SEMESTER. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR CLASSES NOT MADE UP.


WITHDRAWAL POLICY

IF YOU WITHDRAW YOUR CHILD BEFORE THE 5TH MEETING OF HIS/HER CLASS, THE REGISTRATION FEEIS NON-REFUNDABLE AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THOSE CLASSES THAT HAVE MET AND THE REMAINDER OF YOUR TUITION WLL BE REFUNDED. IF YOU DO NO NOTIFY MID ISLAND GYMNASTICS BEFORE THE 5TH MEETING, YOU ARE LIABLE FOR ALL FEES AND TUITION FOR THAT TERM

ALL CLASSES MAY BE FORMED UPON REQUEST WITH THREE OR MORE CHILDREN
